New and Improved Concept

Peter Stutchbury - Connection between the built and natural landscape achieved through a play of natural lighting
Kazuo Shinohara - Structured chaos of the accumulation of conflicting shapes becoming unified

CONCEPT: The formation of negative space through the amalgamation of conflicting shapes ultimately functions to unify the connection between the built and natural environment.

The front and back views of the marker form the 'structured chaos' component as the various shapes create a unified rectangular form. The side views consist of the negative space created by the shapes which allow the audience to view the landscape through the marker thus framing and incorporating the natural landscape within the built structure. As the marker is situated on the M7, drivers will witness the change in structure as they move around it and view it from different angles thus stimulating interest and creating an exciting experience.
